Born in 1975 in Šibenik on the Adriatic coast, Maksim began piano lessons at 9, performing with an orchestra just 3 years later. Despite the war in Croatia in 1990 he continued his musical studies and won his first major competition in Zagreb in 1993.
Maksim's music style has broken down the boundaries between music genres, from classical and movie music to pop and electronic in cooperation with EMI, Sony and Universal.
Maksim has become known for his classic ‘Flight of the Bumblebee’, Croatian Rhapsody’ and ‘Mission Impossible’. He has won numerous awards, including the MTV music award for best debut album in Asia.
